Best way to remove the tension is to add drama lol
Going from one tension to the other lol.
Oh the pressure lol
Review time:
Akuyaku Reijou Level 99: Watashi wa Ura-Boss desu ga Maou dewa Arimasen (Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord)
Source: WN/LN.
Genres: Fantasy, (isekai).
Studio: Jumondo.
(Known for Don't Hurt Me, My Healer!, I Shall Survive Using Potions!, several H titles such as Cosplay Rakuen.)
Personal thoughts:
As another anime with a isekai villainess reincarnation we are presented with Yumiella Dolkness who he quite lovely with her long black hair and most best feature is her deadpan expressions.
What's a little different in this is her trials and tribulations with level grinding like a pro-gamer to get out of her role as the hidden boss which she uses her common sense but at the same time she is just as dense to not notice the obviousness unlike Bakarina (Katerina) of her anime where she's is total dense and lack of common sense.
We have a well mix of comedy with her being lv99 that always brings the tropes of everyone thinks she's a monster or the demon lord. She out wits things with her game knowledge in ways that she tries not to be the villainess and she helps overcome some the game logic by getting the otome game characters to speed run into ship sailing the characters at the end, Also I like on how she gets her own ship sailing with Patrick who being like the side character but I was disappointed on how it came to be even though I love the dynamics of two together.
Most disappointment was ofc the cringe awful cgi with the monster and the bland end with the 2D animation that didn't mix well.
But overall the story and comedy was pretty nice but seem bland to me and sadly I'm giving this only a 6.9/10 rating cause this could have been a little better.
Tbh a 6.9 is too harsh in my opinion, i agree it could be better but i would personally give it a 7.5
I wish I was as good as you in creating our research and investigation project π€£
perfection only exists as a concept
Yumiella basically forced the Ed and Alicia ship to full sail!~ Poor other guys. They had no choice. All for the plot! πππππ
Yep, Edwin has stealing their spotlight.
hey its not just those two, remember the Hillrose lady? shes surely also with them since Alicia and Ed wil be together instead.
yeah, i'm upset that eleanora doesn't seem to get a happy end despite getting the ED spotlight.
Yumiella used his big brain and solve the issue with Power of Love.
Fast and straight to the point lol Yumiella is a woman of speed
Classic Yumiella moment!
Yep. Typical classic Yumiella. ^^
She was right to say it.
I dropped this few episodes after I watch it because back then I thought:
"Ah shiet, here we go again, author gonna make characters hatable just because of they are bound by original "game" or "story" setting, so they will hate and try to hurt MC no matter what just to become hatable."
But, recently I watched some video that happened to catch my attention.
Well, rather than making Alicia despicable for backstabbing Yumiella, they actually made her look like she wasn't doing it on purpose, but was because she's controlled by "game" setting.
[Even though that's what I already expected, but the way it was hinted and Yumiella being an understanding person + her dialogue explaining the situation really make good change of how people view this "manipulated" situation]
Then, I watched some other video clipped of this anime too. Kinda not what I expected and I really liked it.
One of them being the part where Patrick kissed Yumiella after how hard he tried to become the person worthy of Yumiella >.<
Sad that I watched too much of those video clip
But, 10/10 for this show. I'm glad it is different than what I expected.
Fight nervousness with drama, let her cook π
Damn that was cruel for the others... And especially for Eleonora..
And for us, the anime is over so abruptly, no episode 13, no second season... And no second kissu... Shikusho!!!
The power of love and friendship will always prevailβ¦
Enjoyed how nonchalant Yumiella was but her OP density was facepalmworthy at times lol
Overall, Yumiella x Patrick FTW xD
Yumiella's density is equivalent to that of her black holes. It's a true miracle the ship sailed, lol
I think her density was fine in earlier episodes, they just amplified it too much for who knows what reason.
Nothing is stronger than Family love and friendship.
Yep, i like this anime OP music, i give to 10/10 point for music.
Yumiella x Patrick. ^^
Patrick wound up being MVP for insisting she wear the amulet of protection.
It also kinda makes sense from gamer's POV, after all, on lv99 you no longer get exps so you don't need exp amulet.
And since your stats are probs maxed as well, you don't need stat boosting ones either so having revival equip for some shitty OHKO case is the best.
Man I'm so sad to see this end here though. Would of loved to see more or even a season 2 but I don't think that's in the cards. I really enjoyed this anime.
She was so strong that she needed a drawback lol
Yumeilla x Eleonora FTW. XD
The power of love and friendship Yumiella.
Yumellia x Eleanora x Sanon OTTW
As an avid fan of isekai and fantasy genres, I was thrilled to dive intothis series and it did not disappoint. This series seamlessly blends elements of comedy, action, and a little bit of romance delivering a refreshing take on the overused hidden boss trope.
One of the standout features of the show is its Yumiella, who breaks away from the typical mold of the brooding, all-powerful antagonist. Instead, we're presented with a charming and relatable character who grapples with her newfound powers while trying to navigate the complexities of high school life. The development of her relationships with the other characters, especially the unexpected camaraderie with her supposed enemies, adds depth and intrigue to the storyline.
Moreover, this series shines in its world-building and character dynamics. From the intricate magic system to the diverse cast of characters, each aspect of the show feels meticulously crafted and thoughtfully executed. The animation wasn't very good. Especially that Dragon's animation was bad.
While the series certainly has its fair share of lighthearted moments and comedic relief, it also tackles more serious themes such as identity, friendship, and the consequences of power. The balance between these elements keeps the narrative engaging and leaves us eagerly awaiting each new episode.
Overall this was a good ride.
Rating: 7.5/10
i'm glad anime changed the ending if u read the LN u might have been super frustrated by alica
Any spoilers? I'm not interested enough to read the LN.
In addition to what Wymar said:
* Blue-hair and Red-hair are the goons that tried to move Edwin out of the way so Plot-Possessed-Alicia could finish off Yumiella. Alicia had an excuse, but Blue and Red really wanted Yumiella to die.
* Alicia, not controlled by the Plot, asks the Demon King to spare her life in exchange for off'ing the Prince when given the option between the 2, after just asking Prince Edwin to save her. Demon King expected this answer, but isn't happy with it, so he snaps her neck.
And Season 2 Spoiler since we're likely not getting it:
* Uprising of the Central Nobles (Eleanora's parents and Co.) Vs the Kingdom
* The God of Darkness and the God of Light appear, along with portal rifts from other realities. A Yumiella from a reality where she was the actual hidden boss, but managed to kill Alicia and the 3 heroes along with the entire kingdom afterwards, appears and fights MC Yumiella. Eventually a third one appears called the God of Evil which was orchestrating it all, and starts using video game cheat codes to kill both Yumiellas, but they prevail in the end, and the evil Yumiella goes back to her dimension to fix it.
* Yumiella breaks the Level cap beyond Lv99, and her level is now unknown.
Honestly prefer the Anime's version to the LN version. LN version S1 ending seemed really out of place.
holy shit it's uncommon enough that we get a good adaptation, but this goes a step further and is even better than the source.
with that kind of synopsis, i hope we don't get season 2
This is more and more common in modern anime. Webnovel authors are often amateurs, so they often benefit from a team of professional writers cleaning up their work.
And let's not forget that George Lucas's "original vision" of Star Wars is almost universally hated by OG fans.
absolutely not. the major real external conflict that Yumellia has to fight is the societal prejudices that gave birth to the environment of neglect that allow her major internal conflict to really become so horrifically ingrained: the fact that Yumellia trusts Edgelord because Edgelord was the only person to treat Yumellia well for the first 15 years of her life.
I'm usually not fond of source mat. being embellished in the adaptation but I'm glad they did it here.
The summary u gave there is more in line with a revenge type isekai like Redo healer or shield hero, it would be totally out of place in this story since all we are expecting is to see goofy Yumellia
i wouldnt exactly call redo an isekai, since the MC of that doesnt go to another world but rather just rewinds time.
Alicia doesnt get her neck snapped in the novel
Yeah I remember that part β€οΈ They should've stayed loyal to the Light Novel. Would love to see her true nature then having her necked snapped by the Demon Lord but knowing the target audience are young girls in their teens or Shoujo, of course they wouldn't show such a gory scene π¬ But I would pay to see that π€£
Alicia was the true antagonist in the Light Novel
edgelord is the ultimate antagonist in the light novels, since shes the one constantly derailing yumellia. Granted the Goth-Jock with PTSD and ADHD wouldnt be operating as a significantly more functional human being, but half of novel 3 and all of novel 4 stem from Edgelord getting bored and sending an invasive thought to the omnipotent ditz.
Who the hell is edgelord?
Edgelord is the gamer girl who was isekai'd to haunt Yumellia.
People protect Alicia but common dudes just want to see her neck snapped lol
The Light Novel?
After Yumiella saves Edwin and looks back at the Demon Lord & Alicia, he still has her by the throat and she's already dead, so I took that as him snapping her neck since that wasn't enough time for her to die from lack of oxygen.
In the novels, Alicia never has her character development and, alongside two of the goons, tries to backstab our Dorkness. In the WN they get killed while in the LN they get to live in disgrace while Yumiella and Edwin (who had the good sense to realise that maybe ganking the party carry is Not Cool) get all the credit for defeating the demon lord.
The Daughters of Perseverence:
The Countess Dolkness:
Fatebreaker:
The Rabbit Jumped Over the Moon: shits his pants, and then discusses The Plan with Gilbert while strongly advising he bring "Eleanora" with him. The next day, Gilbert and "Eleanora" attempt to rent horses which go crazy and have to run to Ashbatton March for Gilbert's part of the plan. the brother-and-sister-in-law finally figure out who they are as they overlook the Remlest army. Yumellia walks into camp, and is willingly imprisoned in the darkness binding seal by the Remlest engineers and Alicia for exactly 21 seconds instead of the expected 200 years. Yumellia shows off her lvl 13, getting Alicia to bully her for somehow losing levels.
I love how Yumiella's idea of "lightening the tense atmosphere" is to ask Alicia who she likes in front of all of her potential love interests. π
